I’ve had the GoPro HD camera for a while now but haven’t used it too many times yet. Decided to try it out in my pool over the weekend while swimming with the dogs.

Yesterday we flew into Chicago but spent the day with some family that lives 20 minutes outside the city. We upgraded our flight to first-class and now we are spoiled. I don’t think we like flying coach anymore after getting pampered haha. The flight was great and we enjoyed spending time with the family. Today we headed to the city and checked into our hotel and headed out.

We saw that Wicked was playing 2 blocked from our hotel so we got last minute tickets and it was great. Tiffany was singing the songs all night of course. When we got out of the play it was snowing and pretty cold so we got a little taste of Chicago in the winter. We went to a couple local bars near the hotel and had a great time. Going to bed now, we plan on seeing a lot more tomorrow since we have a full day.

Here are a few pictures from today. I’m in the Chicago mood hence the black and white and old photo look on a couple of these. I’ll write another update tomorrow!

Off to the Windy City

Just finished packing and tomorrow morning I’m off to Chicago with my wife. We decided to do something different for New Years so we’ll be at Buckingham Fountain celebrating the new year with a million other people. It’s most likely going to be about 20 degrees and snowing so it should be diferent than what we’re used to here in California. I’ll be posting pictures each day assuming my hotel has internet.

Even though Tiffany was supposed to be studying for school we went to Disneyland Sunday night. She brought some flash cards with her so that made it okay right? This is why we love having a season pass!

I like to carve a pumpkin each year for Halloween, and this year it fell on a Friday so while I didn’t get the pumpkin done in time to actually display to trick-or-treaters I did at least carve one just for fun. I did E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial this year and I think it came out pretty good. Overall it was about 1.5 hours worth of work, but I was watching The Office while I carved so it was all good. Now Tiffany just needs to cook those pumpkin seeds for us!

Yesterday I went to the Miramar Air Show in San Diego. I had heard it was the biggest military air show so I was excited to see it. Man was it huge. I was there from 9am until closing at about 5:30pm and I never even saw half of what was on display. I did watch the entire show though, from a front row box seat that was well worth the $21 I paid for it. I’ll be going back next year no doubt. Here are a few pictures I took using my new telephoto zoom lens.

I’ve gone to the shooting range a couple of times this month and I was lucky enough to go last night to a place that had an old Russian Mosin Nagant rifle that was used in WW2 by the Russian Army. This thing was so loud that it made everyone in the range stop what they were doing and look. It made small arms fire seem like childs fireworks. I also shot a Glock .9mm and a shotgun.

Last weekend I was at Universal City Walk in Hollywood, CA with Tiffany. We later met my parents for dinner and then headed over to the indoor skydiving that just recently opened. Last time I was here I had a broken wrist so I was forced to sit on the sidelines while my fiance had all the fun. This time it was my turn! I highly recommend this to anyone who has the opportunity to try it. I was floating on 90mph wind in a giant wind tunnel. It has the capability of producing up to 180mph wind but I would have been tossed around like popcorn at those speeds.

Found this video on my computer of me driving my Team Associated gas powered rc truck at a track in Valencia, CA so I thought I’d put it online. It’s from a few years ago but it’s still fun to watch. I put a wireless camera inside the truck and show that footage throughout the video. This is why I am a nerd haha.

The friend of mine that I did the Air Combat USA with has edited both of our videos into one, and he also added some clips from the movie Top Gun. It’s kinda funny and it’s cool to see all of the dogfights we did from both perspectives. You can check out all 3 parts by clicking the links below.
